We have set up a not for profit company called UKengineering Marketplace Ltd to support new engineering startups. The website is https://www.ukengineer.co.uk. It enables companies and individuals to post requests for quotations and for start ups/small engineers to bid for work. They can then ‘rate’ each other – rather like the ‘My builder.com’ site – except our one is free. We are also developing a blog page about setting up early stage engineering and industrial high tech businesses. We have some print and social media volunteers to help with promotion but we want to get all glitches in the site sorted out first. If you would like to sign up to the site and let us know of any problems, that would be a great help to the project. Anyone interested in helping, please let us know too.
